First Due House Fire - Highland Estates

April 20, 2026 just before 7:00 am, Allegany County Joint Communications dispatched units for a reported house on fire in the Highland Estates subdivision of Box 3-1. Engine Tanker 3 with a crew of 4 responded in 2 minutes from the time of dispatch.

Allegany advised units responding of numerous calls reporting the back of the house on fire. ET3 arrived to find a 1 story single family dwelling on a basement with fire showing from the rear.

ET3 quickly deployed an attack line and extinguished a fire on the deck with minimal extension to the home and the assignment was quickly scaled back. Personnel from Rescue Engine 4 (Baltimore Pike), Rescue Engine 8 (Bowling Green), Engine 1 (Cumberland) assisted with opening up and overhaul.

Chief 3 held the Highland Estates command.
